Welcome to the SeedSimple!

I am concerned about people's links on SeedSimple due to changes in Google's search algorithm. While plenty of folks still contribute to SeedSimple, their contribution may be miscontrued by Google as spam. With Google's Penguin, spam may give the receiving link a negative link value. Basically, I believe links from SeedSimple's social bookmarks may be negatively affecting your search rankings.

Moving forward

For the time being, all the pages are still in place. I am planning on removing all links from old submissions sometime in the middle of September. I believe that this will best for everyone involved. The new submission feature has been disabled. If you want to keep your old links up, you can contact me directly and I will try to perserve them (contactus @ thiswebsite).

The new site content will be providing some basic information for folks about creating small websites with my traditional ideas for marketing, like handing out business cards. Also, I want to inspire folks to create, maintain and grow their businesses in a positive way that benefits the person, the business, and the community in both short and long term aspects.

Suggestions for Website Owners

Creating good quality links

Here are some pretty standard ideas that you may or may not have considered seriously. I've seen them work for me on a small scale. Here they are in no particular order.

  1. Register your website with Google Webmaster and make sure you have a sitemap and everything is up to snuff.
  2. Create videos at vimeo or youtube that link to your site.
  3. Post on forums and comment on blogs. Quality, relevant content only.
  4. Register one of two pieces with StumbleUpon if they are really good.
  5. Guest post

From Steward Media

Quality websites are still king. Cream will rise to the top, it may just take longer than you want. Over time it's in most peoples best interest to have a high quality internet. Keeping that in mind here's some basic ideas from Steward Media for moving forward:

  1. Stop buying backlinks
  2. Stop trying to make links appear real
  3. Remove any paid links
  4. Clean up any noise you are making in the index
  5. Fix crawl errors on your site
  6. Start building genuine, trustworthy links from reputable websites

Besides creating quality content, it is good to get back to the genuine, trustworthy links from reputable websites. In other words, it's time to make quality contributions to comment sections and forums, as well as guest posts, videos and other creativity that improves the quality of the web.

Noble Samurai

You may want to consider Noble Samurai. Noble Samurai is pretty cool if you want to look into keywords and research other sites in your niches. I would recommend it to anyone who is fairly into SEO and has a couple hundred dollars to spare on a good product that may improve productivity.

Background

I bought SeedSimple.com on Flippa sometime earlier in 2012. I had dabbled in websites for many years but not in SEO. I also had only made $50 from AdSense in all those years. SeedSimple had over 20,000 pages that I could use to promote my new sites and also to possibly generate income through affiliate links and ads. But sometime in the Spring of 2012 my AdSense account was banned and I never got the $50 that had been sitting in my account all those years. I assumed my account banning had been because AdSense ad I put on SeedSimple, though it's hard to prove 100%.

I finally logged into Google Webmaster Tools. And I finally found this message from Google. I wish I had seen this a long time ago.
